Presenting the iPod gramaphone
Available from the high-end money suck that is Hammacher-Schlemmer
"augments sound from an iPod® without requiring auxiliary power or speaker components." How does it do that, exactly? I'm glad you asked. See, down at the bottom of the horn are cradles for your earbuds. The shape of the ceramic horn then amplifies them to "nearly the level of laptop speakers."
But let's talk potential issues, shall we?
1) When I shell out for iPod speakers, (and you WILL shell out for this; see #4,) I expect better sound than what I think I'll get from acoustically-amplified earbuds.
2) I'm a bit annoyed by the volume issue. When I shell out for iPod speakers, (see again #4,) I expect to fill the house with da noize, not have to sit right next to it.
3) I don't care that it's ceramic, somewhat smaller, or all-white. That thing ruins the post-modern look of the iPod. I want my iPod speakers to look like disco balls, or a roll-up cutting board or something. NOT like a record player. That's a step backwards.
4) $500. Yup. And earbuds (required) are not included.

The new line is absolutely stunning! I have been so entertained by your blog, I didn't even see the link to your things you do. Keep coming up with ideas. Thank you for sharing!
